Domaine Olivier Merlin

The history of Domaine Merlin is marked by a deep passion for winemaking and a commitment to the terroirs of Mâconnais. Olivier Merlin's journey began in 1977 when he first encountered the world of viticulture, sparking a lifelong passion for wine.

After gaining experience in the Jura and meeting his future wife, Corinne, Olivier took a significant step in 1987 by taking over the Vieux Saint-Sorlin estate in Burgundy. This estate, though modest at four and a half hectares, was rich in potential and history, having been in the same family since 1750.

Olivier and Corinne chose this place not for its heritage but for their belief in its potential to produce exceptional wines through respectful and traditional methods, such as hand-harvesting and careful soil management. Over the years, they expanded and refined their winemaking practices, eventually involving their children, Paul and Théo, in the family business, ensuring the continuation of their legacy and dedication to quality winemaking.
