Domaine Goisot

Jean-Hugues Goisot, one of the earliest practitioners of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy region is now supported by his son Guilhem Goisot who presents the same enthusiasm as him. With 32 hectares of land in the neighbouring city of Chablis, the small village of Saint-Bris shares the same soil as the Chablis region, the Kimmeridgean; a soil rich in iron and natural minerals. As any top vignerons of France, the passionate and dedicated duo believe great wines begin in viticulture and work tirelessly to keep the environment as natural as possible concentrating on the potential of the exceptional Terroir. Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté and single vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noir are their prized products.

Since 1993, the domaine has worked organically and has recently been certified as biodynamic. Goisot wines are produced beautifully from grapes grown using natural composting techniques and preparations of special herbal sprays while following the astronomical calendar. Wines are fermented and raised in stainless steel tanks and bottled carefully to retain as much of their purity and precision as possible. The process along with the terroirs richness creates deep, racy and soil-driven wines with as transparent an expression of a chalky terroir.
